Old dead tree

location: under the Koenigsstuhl, Ruegen, Germany

This is directly under the Königstuhl in Ruegen. The Königstuhl is a big chalk cliff. 118m high. Translated it is called "kings chair"
A legend says that the name comes from a challenge that who ever reached the top of the cliff by climbing from the seaside will become the next king.
But it is more probably that the name comes from Karl XII, the swedish king. 1715 he fought a sea battle against the Danes. The battle makes him that tired that he has to sit down on a chair.
The sea of course is the baltic sea.
